Arbor Day Tree Planting at Mitch Park- Saturday, March 25th at 10 AM
At the seventh annual Arbor Day Tree Planting, volunteers will plant 29 trees in Mitch Park near the West Field monument, in a planting area that spans the front of the YMCA, between the east edge of the parking lot and Marilyn Williams Dr. Lunch will be provided for volunteers after the planting.
Celebrate Arbor Week at Home Too!
Arbor Week is not just for City sponsored activities. The Urban Forestry Department encourages all Edmond residents to celebrate Oklahoma Arbor Week by planting trees at their homes for energy savings, beautification, erosion prevention, wildlife habitat, and numerous other reasons. The month of March is a great time to plant trees, while the soil is thawing and tree buds are still dormant. Read about proper planting technique on our tree planting page.
